DESCRIPTION OF THE DESIGN OF THE ALBUM & ITS' SELECTIONS
HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUES
“The information presented gave me a full understanding of what happens when my nervous system becomes dysregulated.
The highly effective techniques, some of which I use daily, may be used almost anywhere, anytime, whenever the inevitable stress of everyday life rattles me. Elizabeth's caring and compassionate heart and years of experience as a professional therapist made for a safe and fully supported experience." ~ K.D., workshop participant |
This special resilience focused audio program, which is about an hour in its entirety was created to be initially experienced as a whole album, first going through the entire audio program from beginning to end, although you certainly don't have to do so in one sitting.
Nevertheless, I've been hearing from people who are getting dramatic results from one or two of the physical calming techniques, before making it through the entire album. Selection one is an overall introduction to the program and to your amazing innate process of resilience. Selection two gives you an immediate experience of one of the short fast-acting Physical Calming Techniques. Selection three gives you a very basic yet revelatory understanding of the nervous system. You're experientially taught another highly effective Physical Calming Technique during selection four. More enlightening information about the nervous system and the Physical Calming Techniques is given in selection five, followed by two more awesome Physical Calming Techniques taught in selections six and seven. |
It’s not expected that you will like every single one of these fast acting techniques. I give you a smorgasbord of experiences I’ve learned from various sources throughout the years and have then adapted. You’re encouraged to sample all of them and then you’ll probably find yourself settling on a few tried and true ones to use on a regular basis, after having made your way through the whole album at least once.
Selection eight is a slightly longer more meditative resilience building guided experience “Grounding Yourself”, which I learned in person from Nancy J. Napier and have adapted. Throughout the years I’ve found that practically everyone experiences this guided experience as safe, doable and settling. This is followed by four more powerful Physical Calming Techniques. |
A TREASURE TROVE OF TOOLS
"RESILIENT-YOU can be easily assimilated into the routine of a busy life. I have suffered with an anxiety disorder for as long as I can remember and staying grounded is something I have to work at on a daily basis.
Elizabeth has created a treasure trove of tools to allow you to find calm .. We all need a little sunshine and something to root into so dig in and enjoy." ~ Janet, "CD Baby" Customer Review |
AN ELEGANTLY PRODUCED PROGRAM
"As a psychotherapist, I seek simple yet powerful resources to help people manage stressors and build inner resources. On this CD, Elizabeth's knowledgeable, kind and reassuring voice offers very accessible, educational and soothing experiential exercises and companionship.
The musical interludes woven throughout the program enhance the overall effect of calming one's nervous system, while the listener learns easy and highly effective tools for developing personal resiliency. This is an elegantly produced program and CD. I will use the exercises myself and highly recommend the CD for my clients and other therapists." ~ Robin Kappy, LCSW, Psychotherapist, New York, NY |
Selection thirteen, “Identifying Your Inner Resources”, and selection fourteen "Identifying Your Outer Resources" helps you do just this. "Resourcing" as explained and then experientially taught in the audio program is an extremely important part of nervous system regulation, fostering RESILIENT-YOU®. They're both informative and participatory selections.
Selection fifteen, “Connecting With Your Resource”, is a guided experience wherein you spend time with one of your identified resources from selections thirteen and fourteen, and is heavily based in Focusing. In fact three of Gendlin’s Focusing "movements", are contained herein. Most people find this guided experience to be a welcome addition to their resourcing repertoire. Selection sixteen, “Mindfully Breathing” is essentially a basic mindfulness practice that I learned in person from Myra Weiss who in turn had learned it from Jon Kabat-Zinn. It has been adapted by me, expanded upon with a delightful twist and carries forward some of the Focusing movements introduced in selection six. A lot of mindfulness training begins with the breath. I have found that although focusing on the breath can be extremely calming for most, it can be quite unsettling for people who suffer from panic attacks. My thinking is that if for some reason this guided experience happens to be unsettling, you have Physical Calming Techniques and “Grounding Yourself” to draw upon for regulating yourself and restoring resilience. This being said, "Mindfully Breathing" is actually a favorite of many. |
Selection seventeen, “Experiencing Gratitude” is another simple yet potentially very profound resource for you. Being able to find something for which you can feel grateful, even in the most adverse of circumstances, is one of the qualities of resilience, and is another quick way to shift your experience from overwhelm to thriving. I guide you through that process.
Selection eighteen is the closing, thanking you for the opportunity to share with you what has become invaluable to me and others, as well as suggesting how you can stay in touch with me and find additional resources that complement this unique audio program. After availing yourself of what's offered in the audio program and on this website, you'll find yourself being more centered, more present, more connected, more fully alive. In other words, being RESILIENT-YOU®. |
DELIGHTFUL & EXTRAORDINARY
"I have very much enjoyed the RESILIENT-YOU® audio program. I found it very easy to follow. Elizabeth greets you with a warm, soothing voice, accompanied by serene and gentle music. The combination of the two set a tone for an experience (opportunity) to shed the cares of the day, and engage in a relaxing and restorative embrace.
I look forward to sharing this widely with my clients, friends and beloveds - I believe we will all benefit from it. Thank you so much for this delightful and extraordinary experience." ~ In Gratitude, Coreen Sabat, YL Essential Oils Distributor |
