EXTRA GREAT RESOURCES
The text that appears in a different color from the main text indicates a link you can click on for another resource.
As well as the basic introductory information given about the nervous system in the audio program, I offer you two additional enlightening handouts. To access them, click on their titles: "More About Your Nervous System" and the "RESILIENT-YOU® Glossary".
(Note: I suggest the following because I like them & strongly believe they're excellent resources for fostering resilience. They are not advertisements, and I get no kickbacks. With Gratitude, Elizabeth)

The Finest Essential Oils
"Young Living" Essential Oils
During selection # 14 of the "RESILIENT-YOU" audio program, I mention "certain aromas or scents can be especially soothing and uplifting and therefore a highly effective resource". And I suggest using an essential oil at the beginning of selection #16 in conjunction with the "Breathing Mindfully" guided experience. "Smell is the only sense that directly goes to the limbic part of the brain where the fight or flight response occurs. Therefore the aroma of a calming essential oil can quickly assist your nervous system in regulating itself."
There are essential oils and there are essential oils, most of them effective to varying degrees. "Young Living" essential oils are among the finest quality I've experienced. Considered to be "therapeutic grade", they have a strong pure scent and are long lasting once applied. Furthermore, in addition to the single oils I mention in the audio program, they also offer highly effective blends of oils, such as "Peace and Calming" and "Relaxation".
You do have to buy them directly from a distributor. Coreen Sabat is someone I feel completely confident in referring to you. She's knowledgeable, lovely and has integrity. Click here to go to her website. You can also learn a lot as well as feel inspired by following Coreen's "Young Living" Facebook page.
Although you don't get Coreen's amazing guidance, another company whose oils I find comparable in quality, is Organic Infusions. You can order directly from them.

Calming Music
I realize this is highly subjective, just as I say in the audio selections on "identifying your resources". The kind of music that calms me may not calm you. For example I find music with the Irish whistle in it to be very calming, whereas for my husband it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.
This being said, if you like the music in the audio program, you'll probably enjoy "INNERrOUTe", as Rick Savage, composer and musician of the music on "RESILIENT-YOU" is a member of this band. And several people have remarked to me how centering and calming they've experienced this "INNERrOUTe"' album, available as a CD or a MP3 download through CD Baby.
